During second grade we will be learning about:

• Explore how different cultures share traditions and customs

World History:

• Compare how holidays are celebrated in different countries

Geography:

•  Reading and maps and map features (including title, map key/legend, and compass rose)
• Locating the seven continents and four major oceans as well as countries in North America
• Creating simple aerial view maps of the classroom

Civics:

• Rules and laws and their consequences
• Constitution and Declaration of Independence as the basis for democratic ideals in the U.S.
• The constitutional rights and responsibilities of United states citizens
• Voting and majority rule
• Local, state, and national government leaders and their political roles

Economics:

• Contrast natural resources and human resources
• Decision making about spending, borrowing, and saving money
